The Problem With Our Government
I have finally figured out why the Federal Government can't seem to get anything meaningful done - not enough of our "leaders" are Marines! Although 58% of our Presidents have been in the military, not ONE has served in the Corps!
In the current Congress, roughly 25% of the members have served at all, and of the 535 Senators and Congressmen only TEN are Marines. Even more alarming - only about one third of the members sitting on The Senate and House Armed Services and Veteran's Affairs Committes have ever been in the military. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
The Marines currently serving are:
Sen Conrad Burns (R)MT Sen Pat Roberts (R)KS Sen Craig Thomas (R)WY Sen John Warner (R)VA Sen Jon Corzine (D)NJ Rep Lane Evans (D)IL Rep Wayne Gilchrest (R)MD Rep John Kline (R)MN Rep John Murtha (D)PA Rep Vic Snyder (D)AR
The solution is obvious - let's elect more Marines, and draft Zell Miller for President!
