Miss Joan and Jaymes.. I have again paid you a visit and like always.. when I come here I get home sick for the Ozarks of Missouri.. You can get me out of the country.. but you can never get the country out of me.

Those river and cliff photos are so beautiful.. That when I come here I just set and look.. Like I know a lot of others do.

I don't post that much in here.. but I'm sure you know I do stop by on a regular basis and take a look at what the two of you plus CJ are posting. I really enjoy it when O'Boot stops by the eclub back room and puts in a few lines.. We have a young want to be Marine that comes in from time to tome.. and we all enjoy his posting.. I know that we have had a lot of ladies join.. just to see some of the photos that can not be seen from the outside. I hope that one of these days they may make a post or two instead of just looking..

I am going to be adding a new message (maybe tonight) in each of the forums for those that may be interested. About 4 years ago (boy the time flies) when we started MarineChat I in just a few minutes made a header and put it up. It was going to be just a temporary header.. here almost years later the temporary header is still there. I think it is time we had a new one for all to see. Read the message when I finish it tonight and you will see the details.. This is something that will be open to all.. It's time we designed a new header for MarineChat.

:salute: From a Chaplain in Iraq

"I recently attended a showing of "Superman 3" here at LSA Anaconda.

We have a large auditorium we use for movies as well as memorial services
and other large gatherings.
As is the custom back in the States, we stood and snapped to attention when
the National Anthem began
before the main feature. All was going as planned until about three-quarters
of the way through the
National Anthem the music stopped.
Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds back in
the States? I imagine there
would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few rude comments, and everyone would
sit down and call for a
movie. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National Anthem in the
first place.
Here, the 1,000 soldiers continued to stand at attention, eyes fixed
forward. The music started again.
The soldiers continued to quietly stand at attention. And again, at the
same point, the music stopped.
What would you expect to happen? Even here I would imagine laughter as
everyone sat down and
expected the movie to start.
Here, you could have heard a pin drop. Every soldier stood at attention.
Suddenly there was a lone
voice, then a dozen, and quickly the room was filled with the voices of a
thousand soldiers 'And the
rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night
that our flag was still there.
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free and
the home of the brave?'
It was the most inspiring moment I have had here in Iraq.

I wanted you to know what kind of Soldiers are serving you here

Hello O'Boot.. I'm sorry to say I was not around on July 3rd when you had your 65th Birthday party. I hope that you stopped over at the club to have a drink or two in honor of that day.. If you did... I hope you can remember what you did while you was there.. Otherwise we may be able to run the surveillance tapes for you.. But then you may not want to see them unless of course Miss Joan was with you..

So from me and the rest of the Gang

HAPPY
65TH
BIRTHDAY
