I have looked at your questions and I am sure others will be adding their two cents to the conversation.
I can only state that as to military free fall.. you must qualify for it. It is not just something you can do. You would have to be specialist and be part of the one percent of the Marine Corps.
So before you start thinking of what "free fall" is like.. you should first concentrate on getting through boot camp and then trying to qualify for a unit that is into parachuting. I don't want to dash your hopes.. but your chances are slim.

marine_jaime .. You asked "how is the life in the Marines"... Life in the Marines is what you make of it. You can only get out of it what you want to put into it. The harder you work.. and yes it is a lot of work.. the more you will get out of it.. and remember one thing .. as hard as you may work.. there will be others working just as hard or harder to get the same job you want.

juggaloUSMC sounds like you are a Marine and a disgruntled one at that????what happened......there wasnt anyone forcing you to be one of the best was there...and you signed the papers stating that you will protect and to defent the constitution didnt you ....i spent 20 years and i dont regret any of it and would gladly serve 20 more if called upon to...:salute:

JuggaloUSMC.. I would be interested in knowing what kind of a plaque you received and for what? Since you spent 4 years in the Corps you was not there long enough to learn the finer points. There are a lot of us here that became Marines more then 50 years ago including me. The Marine Corps was and is very good to me. How can we help you?

The problems I have with this job seem to be impossible to deal with. Every time I screw something up, it's the end of the world. But when the SNCOs screw up, it's ok, and I should shut my mouth. Also, I am TIRED of hearing 'you signed a contract'. Contracts are 2 way, and I don't need to hear 'no it isn't!'(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contract). And, whatever happened to 'brotherhood?' The only brotherhood in the Marines is above the rank of e5.It's more like e4 and below is sub-human. my first sergeant is a bipolar manic depressive who physically abuses us. Sorry, but I have a brother, and I never hit him. It's been 6 years. I keep waiting for it to get better, waiting to join this brotherhood, waiting to not be treated like a used tampon on the freeway, and it never happens. 'You signed a contract'. Yeah, well, so did they, and I must have missed the part about how every thing I say, do, think, and believe is wrong, and that I am worthless, and that 'Obeying the orders of those above me' cannot be done, unless I am in the doggie position.
I was wondering what kind of a plaque you received.. That is something new to me if you received one.. and on the other hand.. they don't just forget about you.. That has never happened in the Marine Corps. We look after our own. I know that if you was discharged after your enlistment they would have tried everything they could to get your to reenlist.. and the benefits you would have received even after only 4 years are great.. Including have a college education paid for you.
You don't have to answer.. but are you still on active duty or in the reserves?
All of us have served our time. All of us have served in the lower ranks.. It's a small price to follow orders and still be alive. I was a Sgt (E-5) before I received my commission. That means that I was a Mustang.. so I know both sides of the fence. I can tell lot's of stories.. about what may be going on .. but I will not. We have a retired 1stSgt here on these forums that would be more then happy to talk to you. I am a retired Mustang Major and I would be more then happy to talk to you any time.
I should have added that I spent 6 1/2 years as a enlisted Marine. So I think I should know from where you are coming from.
