hey Pat I just fixed up a couple old dell computers for the grand kids, reformatted the hard drives and installed windows me on them everything went OK except for one it only loaded with 16 bit colorers, so in installed a video card that solver that problem, but now I have shadows on the screen. Like and old TV. any thoughts. also this was and old video card I had.

Change to a better video card Phil. The one you has was made to run a dinosaur of a monitor. I'm sure you'll find this changes everything and your problems will all go away.

Thanks Pat I guess I'll have to do it, hooked it up to another computer and no problem so it's not the monitor,

Now have you had any luck with m/s reauthorizing the activation of xp after you installed it for the fourth time, says thats all, but when you mess around like I do and change hard drives and crash them, like I do.

I have an OEM copy that I have installed and reinstalled at least 8 times. Don't know what you are talking about. But if you are having a hard time doing it on the internet. You can google up a phone number at MS to talk to a human. They will let you do it.

Thanks Pat, I got a new video card today and installed it and everything is working ok.

Now all i have to do is get up with m/s and see if I can get them to give me a new key for xp
