No School of Infantry Training?

I recently heard a rumor that fresh Marines are getting sent strait to Iraq without any training at the School of Infantry, and I quickly informed my informant that there was no way in hell that the Marine Corps would send untrained Marines fresh out of boot camp to go fight without first making them into a skilled warrior!

You are correct proudamerican2.. They must complete MOS training and Advanced Combat training before they can go to the sand pit.

I'm glad to here that Chuck, or is that Major Chuck? I don't know the officer ranks well, so forgive me if I'm wrong.

Do you think you could tell me a little about the Marines' historic battle for Mexico City? I've been studying it in-depth for a class project, but I would like to here it's history strait from a Marine, since encylopedias just don't do it justice.
