I'm a sophomore at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale studying aviation and am in my flight training there. I want to know the vision restrictions to be an aviator in the Marine Corps. I know you need 20/20 uncorrected vision, but I have astigmatism in my right eye and I need to know if refractive surgery is allowed to correct astigmatism.

You have to have correctable to 20/20 vision. Do not have surgery before you go in. The marine corps will do it for you. They will not let you fly if you do it yourself. Let them do it!
