Veterans Affairs caught in actions to deny Veterans and Widows claims
(Hearings to take place)
To individual members and other groups:
For those that are new to this latest VA disgrace caught by the IG I suggest you go to http://www.vawatchdog.org/VAshredderscandal.htm and review the stories from start till present day. If some VA employees and Regional managers do not end up in federal prison this time they never will.
I will start with e-mail I received from Berta today.
Received E-mail from Berta as follows: (my comments are below)
Someone from the Sub Committee-Investigations/Oversight VA-just called me- they have been overwhelmed with letters and phone calls from veterans on the shredding scandal.-
They haven't gotten my letter yet but will call me when they do with an update as well as to the responses they are getting-
They need to have the official OIG report to act on all of this-but they will take action.
This is serious business and veterans and widows who have taken the time to write or call the Sub Committee (who will also probably have hearing as well as H VAC this coming week) ARE being heard.
You can be assured that your concerns are being taken very seriously.
The H VAC hearing on shredder gate is next week- Nov the fifth I think-available live thru vide stream on your PCs.
The Sub Committee is also planning a hearing but awaiting the actual OIG report.
Veteran's Day 2008 should be the day we all decide to stop giving back the Hill.
