Col Edward D. Resnik, USMC (ret), 75, Tequesta, FL
Edward D. Resnik, 75, of Tequesta, died Tuesday, Nov. 8. He was born in New York City and lived in Tequesta since 1979. He grew up in Hollywood, Fla. Before retirement in 1992, he was an international support program manager for Pratt & Whitney. Prior to that he served in the Marines for 30 years, retiring as a full colonel. He served during the Korean and Vietnam wars and earned the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with a "V" and Gold Star and the Meritorious Service Medal. He served on the Tequesta Village Council since 2002 and was mayor in 2003. He was an active member and past president of the Palm Beach County Navy League, an active member and past president of the Palm Beach County chapter of the MOAA, and active member and past commandant of the Marine Corps League Det. of the Palm Beaches. He was chairman of the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball of the Palm Beaches for the past 25 years, and was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Alicia A. Nugent Resnik; three sons, Bruce Resnik and wife Leigh, Bill Resnik and Don Resnik and wife Anastasia; a daughter, Mary Jackson and husband Eddie; a sister, Estelle Bergin and husband Robert of Palm Beach Gardens; and three grandchildren. Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at Aycock Funeral Home, Jupiter. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Tequesta. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in January with full military honors.
