David A. Haynes, 27, St. Louis, MO

David A. Haynes, 27, of St. Louis, Mo., born Sept. 28, 1982, in Maryville, Ill., died on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. Haynes was a St. Louis Metropolitan Police officer killed in the line of duty. He was veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

David was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Haynes.

Surviving are his wife, Stephanie, nee Rother, Haynes; his mother, Janet, nee Jaycox, Haynes; brother, Hardin (Danielle) Haynes; father and mother-in-law, Michael and Rhonda Rother; sisters-in-law, Christina and Alexandra Rother; nephews, James and Thomas Haynes; and uncle, Michael Jaycox. He was our dear grandson, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin and friend.

Memorials may be made to Backstoppers, P.O. Box 66927, St. Louis, Mo., 63166. Online guest book at www.legacy.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2010, at Kutis City Chapel, 2906 Gravois, St. Louis, Mo., 63118.

Funeral: Funeral procession to leave at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2010, from the funeral home for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Lindell at Newstead, St. Louis, Mo. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
