John W. Blaine - Of Lapeer (formerly of Metamora), age 82, died Monday, September 13, 2004. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2004 at Immaculate Conception Church, Lapeer, Father Douglas Terrien officiating. Burial at Green Corners Cemetery, Hadley. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Surviving are: wife, Alba Blaine of Lapeer; children, Bob (Donna) Blaine of Lake Orion, Bill (Mary) Blaine of Lapeer. Also survived by his wife Alba's children: Mary Ann (Hank) Boyd of Cincinnati, David J. Weir of Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren, Steve (Tanya) Blaine of Lapeer, Stacy (Derek) Brackon of Lake Orion, Melissa Blaine of Davison, Joshua Blaine of Missouri, Auston Blaine of Lapeer, Bradley, Claire and Jeb Boyd of Cincinnati; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and JJ. He was preceded in death by: first wife, Esther Blaine, 1999; parents, Albert and Irene (Hammer) Blaine; brother, Albert Blaine. Mr. Blaine served his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII. He was a supervisor at Michigan Bell for 36 years, retiring in 1976. John was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Memorials may be made to McLaren Hospice.
