Jerome R. Britsch, 84, of Pleasant Gap, PA

Jerome R. Britsch, 84, of Pleasant Gap, formerly of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at the Fairways at Brookline Village, State College. Born March 10, 1922, in Streator, Ill., he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Genevieve Boyle Britsch. On Dec. 11, 1949, he married Becky Davis Carver, who survives at home. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He retired from the Florida Highway Patrol after 35 years of service as a state trooper. He belonged to the American Legion, Lake Worth, Fla. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Louise Stokes and her husband, Shannon, of State College, and Carol Tinsley and her husband, Marc, of Chattanooga, Tenn., a son, Richard, of Rockford, Mich.; a sister, Rosemarie Price and her husband, Leo, of Panama City, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph E. Faulkner officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hall Cemetery, State College. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, South Central PA Chapter, 2790 W. College Ave., Suite 7, State College, PA 16801-2600.
