Roland Cardinal "Rocky" Talbot, 64, of East Longmeadow, MA

Roland "Rocky" Cardinal Talbot, 64, of East Long-meadow, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at home after a long and courageous battle with Cancer.

Roland "Rocky" was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 20, 1948. He attended Classical High School in Springfield, MA. until 1966 when he continued his education at Maine Central Institute, in Pittsfield, Maine, where he graduated in 1968. In 1969 he joined the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged holding rank of Sergeant in 1971.

When he returned home to Springfield, Massachusetts, he continued on to receive a Degree in Psychology at Springfield College in 1977.

Roland "Rocky" worked as CEO and President of Network Enterprises, Inc. of Honolulu, Hawaii; a company in which he founded and successfully grew and managed for the next 30 years. Outside of work, "Rocky's passions included specialties in the world of the Culinary Cuisine, the World of Sports, with a more than special fondness for the game of Baseball (an avid Red Sox Fan), and a true love of reading, a passion inherited from his mother, Dru.

Roland "Rocky" is survived by his Step-Mother, Martha S. Sponske, of Wilbraham, MA, three children, Cullen Talbot of Soule, Korea, Tanya Vondrus of Honolulu, Hawaii, Khristina Nieves of Springfield, MA, five grandchildren, Kyla Vondrus, Angel Nieves, Alexander Nieves, Raven Nieves and Jr. Nieves, Brothers Jay Talbot and his wife, Rachel Edelman of Magnolia, MA., Henry "Hank" Talbot and his wife, Noreen P. Talbot, of East Longmeadow, MA, Richard "Rich" Talbot and his wife, Barbara Talbot of Longmeadow, MA, Sisters Sarah "Sally" Talbot Simone and her husband, Bob Simone of Lansing, Michigan, and Edith "Edy" Talbot Burek and her husband, Stephen Burek of Belchertown, MA, Nephews Henry Talbot of West Springfield, MA., Seamus Talbot of East Longmeadow, MA, Kieran Talbot of East Longmeadow, MA, Jesse Talbot of Boston, MA, Richard Talbot and Dillon Talbot of Longmeadow, MA., Bjorn Talbot of Springfield, MA, Jason Gauthier of Del Ray, Florida, Stevie Burek of Del Ray, Florida, Michael Simone of Atlanta, Ga., Matt Simone of Philadelphia, PA, Nieces Michaela Talbot of Springfield, MA, Ashley Talbot of Longmeadow, MA, Kelly Talbot of Boston, MA., Kristin Bryant of Belchertown, MA, and Jutta Siegel of Germany. Grandniece Grace Talbot of West Springfield, MA, and Grandnephews, Noah Talbot, of West Springfield, MA, Ethan Burek of Belchertown, MA, and dearest lifelong friends Peter Imler of Hamden, MA, Billy Sheenas of Springfield, MA, Johnny "Mac" of Florida, and recent but dear friend Kathleen Demarest of East Longmeadow, MA.

Roland "Rocky" is preceded in death by Father, Jones Harold Talbot Jr., Mother, Drusilla Cardinal Talbot and younger brother, Philip B. Talbot.

The family of Roland "Rocky" Cardinal Talbot wishes to extend a very heart felt thank you to Rocky's Primary Oncologist, Dr. Philip Glynn, Head of Mercy Hospital's Oncology Department in Springfield, MA, who treated him with the utmost dignity and respect and always greeted him with "How are you, Rock?"

Family and friends are invited to a gathering from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at BYRON KEENAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION TRIBUTE CENTER 1858 Allen St., Springfield, MA.

A service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, 11:00 am at Gates of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104, more details, please visit
