Gary Edward Little, 70, of Strasburg, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Walnut Springs Christian Church with the Rev. Wendell M. Schurtz Jr. officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Lebanon Church Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Marines and Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, Strasburg. Mr. Little was born November 12, 1947 in Winchester, the son of the late James Edward “Jimmy” and Gene Richardson Little. He was a member of Walnut Springs Christian Church and retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation as a supervisor and surveyor. He enlisted the United States Marines Corps in 1967 and was discharged in 1970. He was in Vietnam March 1967 to April 1968. He was awarded a Purple Heart in October 1967. He was very proud to be a Marine. Surviving are his wife, Dianne Rennie Little; his son, Brian Edward Little and wife Maggie of York, PA; his daughter, Kristen Dawn Spaid and husband Steven; his sister, Brenda J. Dellinger and husband Dan of Woodstock; and five grandchildren, Eli Edward Little, Cooper James Little, Brady McKane Spaid, Kaden Scott Spaid and Kennedy Grace Spaid. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Keeler garage, The McDonald’s Breakfast Group, Frank Weller, Willie Keeler and Kenny Showalter. Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, Inc., 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 or the Wounded Warriors Project.
