Come, King of all nations, source of your Church's unity and faith: save all humankind, your own creations!

Lord Jesus, we desire to live in unity and in faith. Help us to respond with open ears to hear your words of wisdom and to share with those around us your unconditional love for us. Amen.

Christmas Eve Prayer

Most Loving Father, thank you for this night and for all it represents. Thank you for the hope you bestow, the peace you bring, the love you pour out, and the joy you give. We praise you most of all for Jesus, your Word made flesh. May he light our way as the holy star lit the way for the wise men. Amen

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Luke 2:8-12

Today as we celabrate your birth 3 gifts have been offered to you

Born a King on Bethlehem's plain Gold I bring to crown Him again King forever, ceasing never over us all to rein.

Frankincense to offer have I Incense owns a Deity nigh Pray'r and praising, all men raising Worship Him, God most high.

Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume breathes of life of gathering gloom sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying sealed in the stone-cold tomb.

Let us remember your birth in all that we day each day of our lives with a simple prayer and a thank you for all that you taught us to believe in.

Merry Christmas to all

Gratitude for Friends and Family

To our friends who have become family
and our family who have become friends-
May you be blessed with the same
love and care you've given us.

In Praise of God

You are holy, Lord, the only God,
and Your deeds are wonderful.
You are strong.
You are great.
You are the Most High.
You are Almighty.
You, Holy Father are King of heaven and earth.
You are Three and One, Lord God, all Good.
You are Good, all Good, supreme Good,
Lord God, living and true.
You are love. You are wisdom.
You are humility. You are endurance.
You are rest. You are peace.
You are joy and gladness.
You are justice and moderation.
You are all our riches, and You suffice for us.
You are beauty.
You are gentleness.
You are our protector.
You are our guardian and defender.
You are our courage. You are our haven and our hope.
You are our faith, our great consolation.
You are our eternal life, Great and Wonderful Lord,
God Almighty, Merciful Saviour.

Prayer to Resist Overeating

Dear God,
right now, I surrender to You
my temptation to binge,
to rebel, to misuse the food
You've blessed me with.
Fill me instead
with Your Spirit and grace
and grant me the power
and will to STOP indulging
when I am no longer hungry.
Thank You that, by Your Spirit, within me,
I have the ability to resist
the urge to overeat today. Amen.

Blessed are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways. (Ps 128)

Lord God, as we try to live according to your laws and ways, we sometimes fall short of being faithful and we become discouraged. For there are many distractions that surround us and it can become a bit overwhelming for us. We are in need of your guidance, your graces and your love to help us walk in your ways. Amen.

A child is born for us, a son is given to us; dominion is laid on his shoulder, and he shall be called Wonderful-Counsellor. (Is 9)

Gracious and loving God, as we come to a close of yet another year in our life, the signs all around us remind us to recall what we have lived this past year. In doing so, we recall the gift of your Son and how he is the salvation of humankind. We give you praise and thanksgiving for all that has been and we pray in gratitude for your presence in our lives over this past year. Amen.

Prayer for the New Year

Grant me the strength from day to day
To bear what burdens come my way.
Grant me throughout this bright New Year
More to endure and less to fear.
Help me live that I may be
From spite and petty malice free.

Let me not bitterly complain
When cherished hopes of mine prove vain,
Or spoil with deeds of hate and rage
Some fair tomorrow's spotless page.
Lord, as the days shall come and go
In courage let me stronger grow.

...

Lord, as the New Year dawns today
Help me to put my faults away.
Let me be big in little things;
Grant me the joy which friendship brings.
Keep me from selfishness and spite;
Let me be wise in what is right.

A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye.
When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.

- Edgar A. Guest

May the everyones New Year be Blessed with the Lord

In the past God spoke to our fathers through the prophets; now He speaks to us through His Son. (Heb 1)

Lord God, open our ears to hear the Words of your Son, touch our lips to proclaim your presence in our lives and in our world and heal our broken hearts so that we may love our neighbors. As we begin this new year, may we be living examples of your Son's actions on earth and be peacemakers in situations that we find ourselves living in at this time. Amen.

The Word of God became a man and lived among us. He enabled those who accepted him to become the children of God. (Jn 1)

Father, your Son was born like us but without sin. As we journey in our faith, may we be reborn in him and help us to be free from sin, so that we may follow you with a pure heart and soul. Amen.

Prayer for Doctors and Nurses

Sanctify, O Lord, those whom you have called to the study and practice of the arts of healing, and to the prevention of disease and pain. Strengthen them by your life-giving Spirit, that by their ministries the health of the community may be promoted and your creation glorified; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Be Mindful, O Lord

Be mindful, O Lord, of those who travel by land, by sea, and by air; of the old and young, the sick, the suffering, the sorrowing, the afflicted, the captives, the needy and the poor; and upon them all send forth Thy mercies, for Thou art the Giver of all good things. Amen.

Prayer for Epiphany

Dear Jesus, as You led the Three Kings to You by the light of a star, please draw us ever closer to You by the light of Faith. Help us to desire You as ardently as they did. Give us the grace to overcome all the obstacles that keep us far from You. May we, like them, have something to give You when we appear before You. Amen

Father in heaven hear my prayer,
keep me in thy loving care.
Be my guide in all I do,

Prayer for Young People

God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the beginning, before all ages, the Word was God; that Word was born a man to save the world. (Jn 1)

Lord Jesus, we desire so much to keep your Commandments and to live by your words. We ask that you grace us with the gift of light so that we may always walk in the light of life. Amen.

God's love for us was revealed when he sent his only Son into our world, so that we could have life through him. ( 1Jn 4)

God our Father, we are thankful for the gift of life. We are reminded of how precious this gift of life is in our world. Your Son revealed for us the love you have for us. May we grow in our love for you and for our brothers and sisters as we take this moment in prayer to be with you. Amen.

Prayer for Those With Cancer

Bless, O God,
all who struggle with cancer.
Empower them with hope
for each and every day.
Provide them with loving
and tender care, laughter,
and the support of love.
Grant them
courage when they are afraid,
comfort when they are in pain,
and your blessing
when all else seems hopeless,
that in their fight with illness
they may continue to praise you
and glorify your name.
Amen.

Here I am Lord, I come to do your will. (Ps 19)

Lord, here I am, I have come to do your will. I desire so much to remain faithful to your plans in my life. At times, I feel a pull in the opposite direction. In these times, I am more in need of your strength and courage. May you bless me with the grace of strength and courage to remain faithful to all that you ask me to live. Amen.

I call you my friends, says the Lord, for I have made known to you all that the Father has told me. (Jn 15)

Lord Jesus, it is so good to hear that you call us friends. We desire so much to be your friend. You have made known to us all that the Father has told you and we want to hear more. In this wanting, we desire to believe more deeply in your words and in your life. As we journey with our friends and family, guide us to hear your words over and over again, so that we may develop a natural response to hear your words and to do the will of the One who sent you. Amen.

Prayer for Renewal

Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

- Psalms 51: 9-12

Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. (Ps 40)

Lord, we come before you ready to do your will. Looking all around, the needs are so great that often times we can feel some discouragement. Let us take time this day to reflect on the words in Psalm 40 to give us strength and courage to pray the words, "here I am, Lord; I come to do your will". Amen.

For Those Coping With Divorce

Lord, be with this family as they transition into two separate households. Let your eternal light radiate throughout both homes, that this child may know your lovingkindness, as manifested by her parents, who love her, Lord. Let both this husband and wife grow strong in your love and live their lives according to Your will and not their own... I also pray for all children of divorce, that they have both their parents in their lives, and never doubt for one second that they are loved and cherished, and precious in Your sight. Thy will be done Lord, Amen.
