In this case, formal school is the MP school. You will be too young if you ship out in June.

aye sir, right now my mos is heavy equipment and vehicle repair. i was talking to an army mp today and he said they just raised age requirments to 21. i was worried that being the army raised their age that the marine corp would considering they are trained at the same base. he was the last company to be the age of 18. will this new policy affect marine corps?

No as far as age requirements. Each branch sets their own requirements. You may want to rethink changing from a HE Mech to a MP. HE Mechs make pretty good money in the civilian world.

aye sir, i might reconsider during the two years. i plan on doing my first enlistment and if i love the corp and want to stay in, i'll do 20. after i get out i planned on becomeing a state trooper. so i was looking for a more law enforcement approach. i have done mechanic work all my life, and i currently go to vo-tech after high school for mechanics. both fields are high demand civilian jobs. appreciate the help. and to update you on my progres incase you were just by chance curious, im weighing 185 (5 pounds over ship weight -.-) im now doing 12 pull ups , 130 crunches and i run a 11:50 mile and half. the day before our ist, i had my wife time me and i ran the mile and half in 9:40 and 2 miles in 16:30. i know the cft is 3 miles i was running two just because... my back cramped up real bad on my ist but i ran through it.
