Rudolph J. “RUDY” Urbani

Rudolph J. “RUDY” Urbani passed away on May 13, 2005, in Eureka at the age of 77. Born on November 28, 1927, in Fort Bragg, CA, he was the oldest of two children born to Rex and Gina Urbani.

As a child, Rudy attended Greenwood Elementary School then moved to Calistoga where he attended and graduated from Calistoga High School. He then went to St. Mary’s College and later attended Santa Rosa Jr. College after he returned from being stationed in Korea in the United States Marine Corps. When he returned home to Fort Bragg, it was then that he met and married his beloved wife of 50 years, Ann. Rudy loved hunting, fishing and playing the ponies while making his living working as a commercial fisherman. He was a loving husband and father and was deeply loved and respected in return. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Urbani; sons, Rex Urbani and Richard Motherwell and wife Ruth Motherwell all of Eureka, Tom Motherwell and wife Jill Motherwell of Fort Bragg; daughter, Nancy Mouw and husband Ken Mouw of Montague; and his sister, Cookie Holmes and husband Alan Holmes of Fort Bragg. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex Urbani and Gina Urbani; granddaughter, Marci Motherwell; and uncles, Angelo Urbani and Harry Urbani.

At his request, there will be no formal services held.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Rudy’s name to Hospice of Humboldt, 2010 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka, California.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice for all their help and support.
