Everette Lloyd Bowman Sr., 93, Lynchburg, VA

Everett Lloyd Bowman Sr., 93, of Lynchburg, died on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. He was the husband of Christine Allen Bowman. He was born on Jan. 29, 1916, in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of the late Eleanor Peterson Bowman and the late George Bowman.

Everett was a chemist for American Cyanamid for many years, served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Lynchburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Everett L. Bowman Jr. of Charlottesville; his daughter, Eleanor Klimo, and her husband, Thomas, of Ga.; his grandson, Stephen Klimo, and his wife, Robin, of Conn. and their son, Trey Klimo; his niece, Cynthia Neely, of Fla.; and a special friend, neighbor and caregiver, Janice Lewis.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, 1021 New Hampshire Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
