Donald Teague, 74, Dothan, AL

Mr. Donald Teague died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his residence. A funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Teague will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in the Ward Wilson Chapel with The Rev. Ede Polvanich officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests that love offerings be made to the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 205 Holy Lane Dothan, AL 36301. Mr. Teague was born in York, ME on July 18, 1935, the son of the late William T. Teague and Mary Thorp. He lived in Rochester, NY most of his early life and joined the US Marine Corps at age 18. Shortly after his early arrival in the Corps, Mr. Teague entered pilot training and received his wings at the age of 20. At the time he was the youngest pilot in the Corps earning wings. He was a fixed wing, carrier qualified jet pilot. He remained in the Corps for 15 years, then went into Civil Service at Ft. Rucker in the field of air traffic control. He advanced in his career and combined his time in the USMC so he retired as assistant director of training after 40 years of service. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 47 years, Nonnie Teague of Dothan; daughter, Ginny Powers and her husband Tom of Williams-town, WV; son, Bill Teague and his wife Connie of Raleigh, NC; sister, Marcia Englert and her husband Joe of Walworth, NY; and brother, David Teague of Rochester, NY; step-sister, Elizabeth Sorel of Florida; step-brother, Bill Acker of California; two grandchildren, Justice Powers and Bengi Powers; special love for his step-mother, Marge Teague; and friend Cindy Sanders.
