Leroy J. Bottley Jr., 62, New Orleans, LA

Leroy J. Bottley, Jr. passed away peacefully on Mon., Aug. 22, 2011. He was a native of New Orleans for 62 years. Born Feb. 2, 1949 to the union of the late Leroy and Alice Bottley. Leroy attended Johnson C. Lockett Elementary School and went on to graduate from George Washington Carver High School. He was employed by S.I.U. Seafarer Union (Merchant Marine) for several years and was Honorably Discharged after serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. Leroy was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mary Ellen Armelin in 1967. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Leroy Bottley, III and his wife Nyra Bottley; two grandchildren, Levon and Nya Bottley; two brothers, Cornelious and Gerald Bottley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many lifelong friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerome Bottley, Sr. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., NOLA, on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Joseph Merrill, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park. Online guestbook: (504) 282-0600. Donavin D. Boyd and Linear Brooks Boyd Owners/Funeral Directors.
