GySgt Spencer Brady Minter USMC, 42, of Aledo, TX

GySgt. Spencer Brady Minter, 42, of Aledo, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.

Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Msgr. Publius Xuereb, celebrant. Full military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps will immediately follow the service.

Memorials: His memory may be honored with a gift to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kan. 66675; or the family welcomes flowers.

Spencer was born on July 14, 1971, in Houston to J.C. and Maureen Minter. Spencer was an active duty member of the United States Marine Corps for the last 17 years. He served three tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He earned numerous awards, including five Marine Corps Good Conduct Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

Duty stations include MCAS Cherry Point, N.C., NAS Pensacola, Fla., and NAS JRB Fort Worth. Spencer had an unwavering commitment to the Corps, his family and his beliefs. He had an infectious humor and a devilish grin. He was a baseball fanatic, a metal head, a book worm, an information addict and had passion for genealogy, among many other interests.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Minter. Survivors: Wife of 21 years, Lori Minter; children, Kelly, Amanda and Justin Minter; mother, Maureen Minter; sister, Staci Domasco and husband, Ronnie; nephew, Ledger Domasco; mother and father-in-law, Sandy and Jerry Beasley; father-in-law, Gene Glendening; brother-in-law, Brian Gendening; nephew, Steven Glendening; and niece, Shianne Glendening.
